From cocktail functions replacing traditional sit-down tables, and colour over neutrals, here are the latest wedding hire trends we’ve noticed in 2017.
Decor that dangles
Hanging plants, dangling floral arrangements, strings of fairy lights and light fittings – hanging decor is becoming a main feature at a lot of styled weddings. It’s a beautiful way to theme your room, without cluttering the space.
The neutral and beiges have been replaced with selected colour schemes, usually a palette of between three to five brighter colours. Most of the chair and table hires are white or cream, so that pop colours can be layered on top. From the menus, napkins and placemats, to chair cushions and floral arrangements.
Creative food arrangements
Who said glassware is only for your drinks? We’re often seeing our glassware hired to serve dessert in, cake stands used to serve fruit and shot glasses of moose. Share plates are becoming increasingly popular than set menus, which this serving style makes much easier that guests can choose what they take. These creative serving suggestions are also great for saving space on your serving table than dishes and plates.
Cocktail functions instead of sit-down dinners
It can be disappointing when you’ve invited guests but feel like you didn’t get the chance to talk to everyone. Cocktail events make it much easier for you and your guests to mingle, while still ensuring everyone gets fed. Many cocktail weddings will have waiters distributing food, and also a dedicated table area for each course. There is usually still seating areas for guests, but this may be around a coffee table or cocktail tables instead of traditional banquet arrangements.
Usually in between the ceremony and reception, guests are left to their own devices while the bridal party and family has photos. Lawn games are becoming popular to provide to guests before the reception officially begins. As well as passing time, it’s also a fun way for your guests to meet each other before the evening of festivities kicks off.
