We have been in the events industry for over 15 years, offering a range of individual specialised services and equipment. Party hire Group was formed to offer all of our products and services in the one place, to offer greater convenience and cheaper prices for our customers.
We can cater to any event, whether it be a small get together, or a large scale corporate event or wedding. No job is too big or too small. Our History: From Spinning Tracks to Setting Trends: How Party Hire Group Was Born
In the year 2000, Nick Zahra dreamed of becoming a DJ, but his father insisted he focus on his final year of school. Determined to follow his passion, Nick saved money from his night shifts at Franklins Supermarket and secretly bought DJ equipment, hiding it in his room. Late at night, he practiced using headphones while his parents slept, and before long, he was DJing at friends' parties.
Word spread quickly, and soon Nick was booked out every weekend. Seeing an opportunity, he began investing his earnings into more DJ equipment, renting it out to friends who wanted to DJ but couldn’t afford their own gear. He also passed on his excess bookings, helping them get started.
One night, his father discovered him DJing in his room and was initially unimpressed. However, after realizing Nick was making real money, he supported his son's growing business, even allowing him to train DJs in the family garage.
Over time, Nick built a thriving business with over 80 DJs working under him. While still at university, he partnered with a friend who sold frozen cocktail machines, referring customers to each other. As Nick’s business grew, he saw the potential in party equipment hire and acquired his friend's business, eliminating the middleman and expanding his services.
Recognising that digital music streaming would change the DJ industry, Nick began diversifying into party hire, adding chairs, tables, marquees, and other equipment to his inventory. Eventually, he sold the DJ business—managing young DJs had become time-consuming—and focused entirely on event hire.
Today, Party Hire Group has over 300 products, a team of 50 full-time staff across Sydney and Melbourne, and is one of the busiest event hire companies in both states. With a strong reputation for quality service and reliability, we are committed to expanding nationwide, bringing unforgettable events to life across Australia.
